Big
Sky is located 43 miles south of
Bozeman, Montana.
From
the Gallatin Field Airport, it is a short
1 hour drive through the unparalleled
beauty of the Gallatin National Forest
along the crystal clear Gallatin River.
Founded
in 1973 by the late NBC newscaster, Chet
Huntley, Big Sky offers vast wilderness
with an expansive landscape that
encompasses national forest, gentle alpine
meadows, spectacular mountain lakes,
rushing rivers and Blue Ribbon trout
streams.
The
northwest border of Yellowstone territory
runs only 18 miles from Big Sky, and the
official West Yellowstone National Park
entrance is only a half hour drive
further.
